While browsing the internet I came across this video:
Personaly I'm disappointed that these young stars are using their fame to influence teens. Especially when it is such an important issue. This is our country, not a soda.
What do you think?
I agree it's pretty sad that stars are selling theirselves to stop others from voting for McCain. I mean one of the best thing about America is that we have the right to choose. I have friends for Obama and for McCain it doesn't make either one wrong or right. Everybody's different and entitled to their opinion. I debate with my friends in a fun way and learn something new every day about the electees. Honestly I think they are both good people I just like McCains fervor and plans better. I never tell someone they're wrong for picking Obama but these stars and teens are telling us that picking McCain is wrong and that we are destroying our country. It's just disrespectful telling someone even though you have a choice you're picking the wrong one. We need to just ignore who's voting for who, educate ourselves and choose who We think is right for our country.
I think that you are right on target. The right to vote and the importance of your vote, any vote, is much better served with authentic political information. The problem with the Obama campaign is illustrated in this video. There is no substantive information. It says that voting Republican is not cool, in fact it is, in innuendo, likened to teen drinking and driving (against the law). If Obama and his campaign would offer why we should not vote Republican, or what his platform is and how it differs from McCain’s - other than the "past eight years"- rhetoric. Then maybe we would or should listen, but this is an obscure, media driven scare tactic......but wait isn't that what Obama is saying the Republicans’ are doing to him......hum.....I smell a double standard. No I smell the Obama campaign!
Well actually, if youre paying attention, they dont talk to teens at all. Its just a joke. Its not supposed to sway anyone, and I dont think it actually would. Besides, any teens that are influenced by this are not going to be old enough to vote, so how would that make a difference?
